One-acre grass area with mature trees overlooking Fort Peck Lake's downstream area, situated on historically significant ground charted by Lewis and Clark in 1804. Part of a major USACE dam facility with day-use and historic/cultural site access.

Wildlife alert: Red-tailed Hawks present in area; also watch for Rocky Mountain Toads and cacti (Missouri Foxtail, Great Plains yucca) on the ground.

Insider tips for Administration Lawn: Book early — federal USACE campground with only 1 tent site, so availability is extremely limited Showers available on-site despite 'no hookups' designation — useful for longer stays Approach from Nashua via MT HWY 117 South (9.6 miles) for direct routing; alternate Glasgow route adds distance

Skip Administration Lawn if: You need RV hookups — this site explicitly has none despite listing 'Electric Hookups' in amenities. You're planning outside May-October — seasonal operations only. You need more than 1 tent site or flexibility — only 1 site total available.

Best time to visit Administration Lawn: May - October — Official operating season per RIDB; campground closed outside these months.
