Avery offers direct shoreline access to Lake Hamilton/Ouachita River with an ADA fishing pier and boat ramp, plus it serves as a trailhead for the 40-mile Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT). The Wood Duck Slough Trail provides excellent wildlife viewing.
Wildlife alert: Northern Bobwhite, Common Loon, and American Coot observed in the area. Plant species include Arkansas Beardtongue and Hubricht's Bluestar.

From Hot Springs, AR: Take US 270 west to AR-227 N/Mountain Pine Rd for 6 miles. Continue straight on Blakely Dam road through Mountain Pine and past Mountain Pine school. Drive across the base of Blakely Mountain Dam and Avery Recreation Area will be on your left.
