Cougar Rock is the largest campground in Mount Rainier National Park — 173 sites in dense old-growth forest of Douglas fir and red cedar. The iconic Rainier summit is visible from clearings around the campground. Close to Paradise (the most-visited area in the park) and the start of the Skyline Trail. Peak wildflower season July–August transforms the meadows above into one of the most spectacular sights in the Pacific Northwest.
