Jenny Lake is tent-only, 49 sites, and one of the hardest campgrounds to book in the entire NPS system. It sits on the eastern shore of Jenny Lake with direct views of the Cathedral Group — Teewinot, Mount Owen, and the Grand Teton. The Cascade Canyon Trailhead and boat shuttle across the lake to Hidden Falls are steps from camp. No RVs. No hookups. No exceptions. Opens in late May and books out within seconds of the reservation window opening. If you can get a site here, take it.

String Lake loop at 5am before the boat shuttle begins — walk north from Jenny Lake along String Lake as the sun rises on the Tetons. This 3.7-mile flat walk is completely empty before 7am and arguably the most beautiful easy walk in the park.

What is new at Jenny Lake Campground: Teton Park Road vehicle reservation required May–October on weekends. Book separately from the campsite.

Wildlife alert: Black bears and grizzly bears both present. Bear boxes mandatory. Moose extremely aggressive during September rut. Bison wander through the campground.

Things to do near Jenny Lake Campground: Cascade Canyon via the boat shuttle (7 mi RT) — the most popular hike in the park. Leigh Lake (3 mi RT from String Lake trailhead) — quieter lake with similar Teton views and better fishing.
