A mix of drive-up standard sites and walk-in tent-only sites (80–160 yards from parking) that feel backcountry without a permit. Your camping reservation automatically includes a Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road permit. Estes Park is 5 minutes away for groceries and restaurants. 30 ft total vehicle length hard limit.

Why campers love Aspenglen Campground

Aspenglen is the most underrated campground in Rocky Mountain National Park. Fifty-two sites by Fall River, Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road included, and 5 minutes from Estes Park — yet it feels like the park's best-kept secret. The walk-in tent-only sites are genuinely special. Most RMNP visitors don't even know they exist.

What's new in 2026

2026: RMNP requires timed entry reservations during peak season (late May through mid-October). Your camping reservation includes this — no separate timed entry needed.
