Two Medicine is the least-visited major valley in Glacier National Park, offering similar alpine scenery to Many Glacier but with far fewer crowds. 99 sites on Two Medicine Lake surrounded by peaks including Rising Wolf Mountain and Sinopah Mountain. The boat tour across the lake is one of the best-value experiences in the NP system. Hiking includes Running Eagle Falls (0.6 mi), Twin Falls (4 mi round trip), and Dawson-Pitamakan Pass (18 mi loop). Easier to book than Many Glacier or St. Mary.

Running Eagle Falls — a 0.6-mile walk from camp to a waterfall that flows both over and through a rock wall depending on the season. In early summer, water flows over the top. By August, water flows entirely through a hole in the rock. Almost no other visitors make this simple walk.

Wildlife alert: Grizzly and black bears both present. Bear spray required on all trails. Food storage in bear boxes mandatory. Moose graze along the lakeshore — maintain 100-yard distance.

Things to do near Two Medicine Campground: Running Eagle Falls (0.6 mi from camp) — the unique waterfall that flows through a hole in the rock in late summer. Boat tour across Two Medicine Lake — $20, excellent shortcut to backcountry trailheads. Dawson-Pitamakan Pass loop (18 mi) — one of the best two-day hikes in the park.
