No cell service, no crowds, exceptional dark sky at 8,000 feet
White Wolf Campground
Yosemite high country at 8,000 ft — secluded, starlit, bear-country wilderness
White Wolf is the smallest and most secluded campground in Yosemite — 74 sites at 8,000 feet on Tioga Road, accessible only when the road is snow-free (typically late June to October). No cell service, no hookups, no crowds. The White Wolf Lodge serves meals and limited supplies. Trails from camp lead into true Yosemite wilderness — Lukens Lake (1.6 mi) is one of the easiest high-country lakes in the park. Significantly easier to book than Valley or Tuolumne Meadows. The dark sky here is exceptional.
